My First Monday Made It {True Story of the Three Little Pigs}

My First Monday Made It {True Story of the Three Little Pigs}

Today I am linking up with Tara (from Fourth Grade Frolics) for her Monday Made It!

{Classroom Made It}

I made these stuffed little guys for an assignment for my children’s literature class a few months ago. The assignment was to create some sort of interactive story telling of a folk tale and then present it in front of the class. I wanted to make puppets and when I began drawing out the three pigs I decided that they would be a LOT neater if they were 3-D. So, after many hours of cutting, sewing, stuffing and gluing, the three pigs and Alexander T. Wolf were born!

In order to make sure that everyone had a part, I had students/classmates hold each of the three pigs, each of the houses, and the police car. Everyone that wasn’t directly involved got one of the cue cards below and helped me tell different parts of the story.

I bought the vinyl tree kit at Pier 1 and the wooden letters from either Hobby Lobby or Micheal’s. I got the letters to represent the first letters of my fiance and I’s names and then painted them red and black to match our bedroom. After the letters sat around for months and months (or even a couple years!) I saw the cute tree vinyl set at Pier 1 and I knew I had a use for my letters finally. The tree was super simple to put up, just peel and stick, and I used some command strips to hang the letters.
