Classroom Tour and a Back to School Sale!

Wow. What a week it’s been! It’s hard for me to believe that it’s been a week since my last blog post. My fiance and I went camping this weekend with his mom and his grandparents and it was long overdue! It was such a relaxing weekend. I even had time to finish a book and write all of my students names down on the cute roster sheets I have in my planner. It is just so much more peaceful reading and working on things for school in the shade with a nice breeze and the sounds of the outside world. It was also the first time we’ve gotten to go kayaking with our new life jackets that we bought a few months ago.

One other thing that I have been doing a lot since last Tuesday is getting ready for the first day of school. It’s only two days away now! The pictures below are from last week. I didn’t take any updated pictures while I was at school today, but not too much has changed. We just finished the blank bulletin board into our whole brain teaching rules board, moved our “currently reading” signs, and maybe a few other things I’m probably forgetting! I want to take pictures before the kids come Wednesday and after they leave just to see how different it looks after it has been touched by 70+ kids. 🙂

The SLANT Box Exchange

Also, I am SUPER excited to say that I mailed my SLANT box to my partner today. I had a lot of fun putting it together and I can’t wait to hear if my SLANT partner likes what I got her. If you haven’t heard of the SLANT box you should definitely check it out. You sign up to ‘meet’ another teacher, learn more about them, and then send them a fun package. You get paired up with another teacher that learns more about you and then sends you a fun package. You can read more about it at Jameson’s blog, Lessons with Coffee.

So, on to the pictures!
